WWII U.S. Army Airborne Command First Lieutenant Tunic with Shirt and Tie

The tailored four pocket officer tunic has both “U.S.” and infantry branch officer insignia on the collar. Sewn above the upper left pocket is the airborne oval of the Airborne command. Pinned to the oval is a sterling paratrooper wing. On the left shoulder is the fully embroidered patch of the U.S. Army airborne Command. The shoulders have the pin back rank insignia of a First Lieutenant. The tailor’s label and the name tag have been removed from the interior of the tunic. Accompanying the tunic is a wool khaki officer’s shirt together with a wool necktie. Both the tunic and the shirt are very clean, being without holes or damage, and the set makes an excellent appearance.
