Named WWII U.S. Army Air Force Air Transport Command Pilot’s Tunic

The tunic is tailored in tropical weight khaki wool. The interior bears the name stamp of “Lt. E.C. Alter”. On the shoulders of the tunic are pin back Captain’s bars as well as pin back distinctive insignia of the Air Transport Command. On the left shoulder is the path of the Army air Force, embroidered on wool. The collar bears “U.S.” and Army Air Force officer insignia. On the upper left breast is a sold, pin back, sterling pilot wing. Below the wing is the single ribbon bar of the World War II Victory Medal. Below this is a three place clutch back ribbon bar with the ribbons for the U.S. Army Good Conduct Medal; the Pacific Campaign Medal with one campaign star; and the American Campaign Medal. On the lower left sleeve are four bullion overseas service chevrons. The wool tunic has a few small scattered holes. Overall good condition.
