Identified WWII Army Air Force Training School Sergeant Tunic

The four pocket tunic has “U.S.” and Army Air Force disks on the collar. An Army air force patch, embroidered on wool, is on the left shoulder. The lapels carry the pin back distinctive unit insignia of the Army Air force Technical Training Command. On the upper left breast is a clutch back Air Crew Wing as well as the individual ribbons for the U.S. Army Good Conduct Medal; the American Campaign Medal; and the World War II Victory Medal. Below the ribbon bar is the pin back badge of the Air Corps Technical School. Also pinned to the tunic is a U.S. Army Good Conduct Medal, slot brooch suspension, unnamed as issued. Both sleeves carry the rank chevrons of a Sergeant. On the lower right sleeve is the Army air force specialty insignia of a mechanic, as well as a Unit commendation insignia. The manufacturer tag remains present in the pocket, with the tunic marked as a size 39 Long. On the upper left breast is the “Ruptured Duck” honorable discharge insignia. Written inside of the tunic is the name “Gretchen”. Present in the pocket is the dog tag of G.F. Gretchen, Jr., service number 33513345. This was Glen F. Gretchen, Jr., from Pennsylvania, who was born in 1925 and who enlisted in 1943. The tunic shows some very small scattered holes, but overall the tunic is in very good condition.
