Named WWII Third Army Ordnance Technical Corporal Ike Jacket with Overseas Cap

The jacket has clutch back “U.S.” and Ordnance Corps collar disks. On the upper left breast is a sewn ribbon bar with the ribbons for the U.S. Army Good Conduct Medal; the American Campaign Medal; and the European Campaign Medal with two campaign stars. On the left shoulder is the patch of the U.S. Third Army. Both sleeves have the rank chevrons of a Technical Corporal, while the lower left sleeve bears two overseas service chevrons and a single enlistment chevron. The interior of the jacket bears the handwritten name of “Mervine”. The manufacturer tag remains present in the interior pocket. On the upper right breast is the “Ruptured Duck” honorable discharge insignia. The jacket is accompanied by the overseas cap with the piping of the Ordnance Corps. The interior of the cap bears the laundry mark of “M 3336”. Both the jacket and the cap were worn by Corporal Edward E. Mervine, service number 13093336, who was from Columbia, Pennsylvania and who was born in 1922. He enlisted in 1942. Both the jacket and the cap show age and use, but both are in overall very good condition.
