The silver cup is approximately 4 inches tall, with a top diameter of approximately 2-7/8 inches and a base diameter of approximately 2-1/2 inches. Th side of the cup has affixed to it a finely detailed gilt American eagle, below which is the enameled insignia of the 8th U.S. Army Air Force. Below this insignia the cup is engraved “Eighth Air Force England 1942-1945”. The base of the cup is marked with the number “16”. The base also has the maker mark of a silversmith, this being “HH”, as well as three British silver marks. The cup is in excellent condition, and it is contained within a fitted green leather case with a velvet and silk lining. The case is approximately 6-1/2 inches by 4-1/2 inches by 3-1/2 inches, with the lid of the case having the 8th Air Force insignia. The case has multiple scuffs and abrasions but it is complete and intact.
