Japanese 1937 China Incident War Medal in Case. Ribbon with hook and eye suspension. The top lid has come loose, paper hinge broken. Worn condition. Additional Notes: Established in 1939 and awarded to Japanese soldiers departing for service in the undeclared war against China in its original case. Bronze colored medal, to its reverse are three stylized mountains and stylized water against which is a row of four kanji characters, translating to “China Incident.” To the face of the bar is embossed a row of four kanji characters, translating to “War Medal”.
